ANNUAL MEETING OF AAPOA

 

 

Date:  May 22, 2011

 

Time:  1 PM

 

Place:  Lost Dutchman Conference Center

 

Attendance:  Twenty-eight board members and homeowners were present.

 

Lunch was served and the speakers began at 1:20.

 

Speakers:  Nell Carnein and Edith Coffman compiled some information about local attractions and events for the summer.  Nell presented the information and handouts.

 

Brad Shaw from CDot brought us up-to-date on the two-part plan for maintenance  and improvements to Lower and Upper Twin Rocks roads; not yet approved by commissioners.

 

Lynn Willow, water operator for the AA Metro District, gave us a summary of recent repairs and testing.

 

Deputy Eric Broman from the Teller County Sheriff's Dept. gave us a reassuring update on crime and reports of problems in our subdivision.  All is "pretty quiet"—which is good to hear.

 

Following the speakers, elections were held for board members and officers.  All officers and board members were reelected with the exception of Sandy Zuniga, who did not wish to remain on the board at this time.  Her vacancy on the board was not filled.  Anyone wishing to apply for this position should contact Rick Zuniga.

 

Some budget items were discussed:  Pond improvements, entrance plantings, insurance, and community dumpster.  Also mentioned:  If you need help with fire mitigation, contact the Coalition of the South Platte.

 

Door Prizes were distributed according to ticket drawing.

 

Meeting was adjourned at 2:48.
